It's The Holiday Season
Looking at our home from the street you'd never know that the holiday season is upon us. You see, we're not decorating the outside of our house this year. Right now, it looks exactly the same as it does any other time of year. The only colors to be seen are green, white, green, grey, and some more green. You won't see the reds, yellows, or blues that are so commonly associated with holiday lighting and decorations. In fact, it's not until you step inside the house that you realize the holiday season is now in full swing.
If you're dying to know what our house looks like all decked out for the holidays you can always catch a glimpse of it on Google Street View. Yeah, they came down our street during the holiday season a few years back and snapped the following photo.
The other day we got to decorate inside our home. We put up a Christmas tree, hung stockings, and set out place mats, couch pillows, wreaths, and several other christmasy knick knacks. As usual the family pets are a bit confused, but happy with the new "toys" we've just spread throughout the house.

The stockings. No, we don't have a fireplace.
Our favorite snowman counts down the days until Christmas morning.
We hope every body else has as much fun decorating for the holidays as we do!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Longboat Key - 2, The Schroders - 0
With the Disney Marathon Weekend just around the corner our training program is pushing our legs to their limits. This weekend was no exception with an 18 miler scheduled for Saturday. We mapped out a nice course along an upscale island called Longboat Key.
We attempted running on Longboat Key a few years ago only to run smack dab into failure. The second we set foot on the island we noticed something strange, something that seemed to strip every ounce of motivation and energy from our bodies. We reluctantly ended the run early and headed home.

This Saturday's 18 miler, we were certain, was going to be a success. We've been training harder than ever and have missed very few long runs. Slightly past the half way point of the run we started noticing something familiar. Our energy and motivation seemed to be draining from our bodies at the rate a Hummer would drain it's tank of fuel. Don't get me wrong, we've been tired and unmotivated before, but this was a completely different monster. Approximately 30 minutes past the half way point we decided to call it quits. We were, in fact, so completely drained that we couldn't even jog back to the truck. We had to walk and even that took all our might.

We've agreed to dismiss these experiences as simply having a bad run, but we can't help but wonder "What's up with that Island?".

Thanksgiving In North Georgia
Our Thanksgiving vacation was spent lounging around a cabin in the middle of nowhere high up in the mountains of north Georgia. The 10 hour trek form Bradenton to the cabin filled us with exhaustion and kept us daydreaming of sleep the entire vacation.
Thanksgiving dinner was, as usual, successful in leaving us all fat and uncomfortably happy. We spent the daylight hours doing various activities including hiking, running, and wishing we had more sleep. Theresa and her family even took a field trip to check out the new BabyLand General Hospital, home of the Cabbage Patch Kids. Please note: Ryan was not in attendance for the birth of yet another Cabbage Patch Kid. As the warm sunlight gave way to the ridiculously cold darkness we could be found watching some Georgia Football or relaxing in the hot tub. It was yet another great Thanksgiving vacation!
